Three Generations of ART
Donna Basich - Why I Paint: to create
"A Vision of Beauty- A Promise of Peace"
I am a painter, a dancer, and a seeker, striving to touch and connect to the life force of Creation, embracing the essence of life through movement, color, and gesture. I have been devoted to art and healing for as long as I can remember. My intention is to plant seeds of love and share the Beauty of life with others.
My process and thoughts drift to the unknown, the unseen Beauty of what lies ahead. I soon find myself putting the brush aside, feeling the colors through my hands, as if becoming one with the painting itself.
It becomes a conversation, a communion of something more than myself. The freedom felt, the flow of energy, takes on a life of its own.
My professional journey includes degrees in Art and Education, Marriage andFamily Child Counseling, Art Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I am also a Kumu Hula, a teacher of the sacred dance of connection.
As a teacher, mother, grandmother, teacher, therapist, artist, and gardener, I strive to create a loving and nurturing environment to benefit this generation and the next.
